What bold dreams we all had, once!
So many of us started homeschooling to encounter great ideas, to explore nature, to wrestle with history, mathematics, music, and art. We wanted to pass along what we’ve found makes life wonderful.
And yet, the old problems of school can follow us home.
Subjects that ought to astonish flatten into worksheets. Smart, thoughtful kids can become dead-eyed with boredom. Little of what they learn sticks — and hardly matters to them.

Schools for Humans is grounded in the radical notion that all the academic subjects (math, science, history, music, art, architecture…) are secretly fascinating. We build courses that uncover the mystery, drama, beauty, humor, and horror that’s hidden inside every topic.
Intellectually vibrant

Riddles, stories, images, and extremes give ideas an emotional force.

We build these courses around knowledge that really matters — which includes stuff that even well-educated adults (sometimes even with PhD’s! sometimes even in related fields!) often don’t know.
You deserve more than to supervise your kids’ education — in Schools for Humans, you get to join the adventure. Parents often find themselves listening into lessons, and report big-picture conversations happening around the dinner table.
Which is all to say: we build these lessons around what fascinates us, too.
